Velvet Magazine
Editorial Design, Typography, Digital Publication, Layout | April–May 2025
Velvet is a fictional beauty and lifestyle magazine designed for both print and digital publication, targeting Gen Z.
The challenge was to create a visual language that felt editorially polished yet playful, aligning with fast-paced social media aesthetics while supporting structured, long-form content.
Early wireframing established the grid and layout consistency before color, photography, and typographic expression were introduced.

Behind The Design
A pastel palette of pinks, peaches, and purples paired with serif and cursive typography shaped the magazine’s tone, while image placement, type layering, and graphic label tags added movement and rhythm across spreads.
I iteratively refined compositions to balance energy with clarity, ensuring legibility and cohesion throughout departments, features, and the cover.
The system extended into a digital format through ReadyMag, where print layouts were adapted into an interactive editorial experience.
Through these decisions, Velvet demonstrates my ability to craft a unified editorial identity across mediums, blending expressive visual language with functional structure for a clearly defined audience.
